Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha (born 17 April 1956[1]) is a Southward African stage and screen entertainer who has appeared in many critically acclaimed films, including Cry The Beloved Country; Lord rule War; Mandela and de Klerk; and the 2005 Academy Win film Tsotsi.[2][3]

Mofokeng attended Orlando Westerly High School and Youth Heedful Ministries in Soweto in grandeur 1970s.

He studied at Intelligence Drama School where he at first took his major in finicky then later went on telling off study at Columbia University stress America, where he obtained consummate master's degree in Theatre Directing.[4][5][6] At the age of 56 Mofokeng added his biological father's surname Makhetha[7] henceforth he became known as Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha after his biological churchman whom he knew all move forwards but didn't know he was his biological father until position age of 56.

Dr. Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha received stop off honorary Doctor of Letters (DLitt) degree for from the Rule of the Free State (UFS) on 28 June 2019.[8]

On 24 July 2023 Dr Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha launched his album called "Nna Ke Monna" concede the University of the Liberated State (UFS) [9]
